Run is the story of Ashley Littletent, a sixteen year old Metis teenager with a chip on her shoulder. Her mom sends her to live with her grandparents on the family farm for a month in the summer. There she develops a love-hate relationship with her grandfather Joseph, a full blooded Cree who stresses rules and responsibility. Slowly he introduces her to the traditions he learned on the reserve as a boy. All seems well until Ashley find a photo album in the attic and she begins asking questions - questions that threaten to reveal a secret that could tear the family apart. In the end, the story is about redemptive love and the power of forgiveness woven into the First Nations culture.
