Why Hollywood on Fire?
Since the grand Biblical epics by Cecil B. DeMille swept not only the box office, but also the Academy Awards, most Christian-inspired projects have proved ineffectual. Christian filmmakers have lost their ability to influence society and to create quality products using an extremely powerful and timely medium.
However, with the overwhelming success of releases such as The Passion of the Christ and The Chronicles of Narnia, faith-inspired motion pictures and television projects are gaining favor with widespread audiences. From across the entertainment business, musicians, directors, producers, writers, crew members, executives and media based ministries are stepping out and making inroads like never before.
Hollywood on Fire recognizes those talented individuals who have risen to the top and are striving with excellence to be a positive influence in the world of entertainment. Consequently, there is once again the opportunity to inspire a whole new generation of filmmakers to have power in the Hollywood system and influence around the world.
ABOUT KEVIN FOSTER
Dreamer. Rainbow Chaser. Daredevil. Adventurer. Showman...
These are just a few of the titles Kevin has been given during the course of his amazing life. The rewards to follow include entries in Marquis’ Who’s Who in America, Marquis' Who’s Who in the World, Outstanding Intellectuals of the 21st Century; a Guinness World Record for traveling the entire New York City subway system in the least amount of time (seen throughout the country); and a 1990 Cyclist of the Year award for being the first (and only) person to cycle atop the Great Wall of China, covering some 2000 miles (and witnessed in the various media by over 1 billion people worldwide).
Since his electrocution and return from death in 1968, Kevin has devoted his life to turning his dreams into reality. At age 16, he became a professional actor, working steadily for the next decade in theatre, both on and off Broadway, as well as in film (he made his debut with Friday, the 13th, part 2). His training and teachers in New York included: The American Academy of Dramatic Arts; The Actor’s Studio with Lee Strasberg; The HB Studio with Herbert Bergoff and Uta Hagen; and with Stella Adler.
Those who are familiar with Kevin know that once he has a set goal in mind, he becomes obsessively passionate about the project, and won’t let go until it’s met. He seems to have the uncanny ability to verbally express his dreams and make them come to fruition; whether it’s a desire to be a Guinness World Record Holder, or taking a bicycle atop the Great Wall of China from one end to the other, scaling America’s 50 State highpoints with it, or taking a tour across Cuba. His latest adventures and dreams include becoming a first time author, as well as doing triple duty as actor-writer-producer on his first feature film, Yesterday’s Dreams, that had it’s world premiere in 2005 at the International Family Film Festival near Los Angeles.
